Raised Feeders
A raised feeder may make eating and drinking more comfortable for a dog who finds it difficult or painful to lower their head. This can include some senior dogs, dogs with arthritis or restricted mobility, and dogs recovering from an injury or operation.
Raised feeding is not automatically the right choice for every dog. Research has associated raised bowls with an increased risk of gastric dilatation-volvulus, commonly called bloat, in some large and giant-breed dogs.
Before raising your dog’s food or water bowl, please ask your vet or veterinary physiotherapist whether it would benefit your particular dog and what height they recommend. This is especially important if your dog is large, giant, deep-chested, or has a family history of bloat.
If raised feeding has been recommended for your dog, choose from Dog Mom’s handcrafted single and double raised feeders.
